This 6-week *Beginner Level* course will provide students with a peek into the world of a professional Fashion Designer! 

Starting ages 8-10 year olds, Fashion Design is a course created by a Parsons School of Design Alumna, and is a perfect fit for students who:

  • Have some experience sewing basic clothing and/or know how to use as sewing machine.
  • Have a creative flair and an interest in fashion design
  • Love drawing, collaging, sewing and want to challenge themselves creatively
  • Are excited by a course that is half-theory, half-practice, and wholly fun!

    This is a structured course where students will learn fashion design techniques and embellish simple patterns:

    Week 1: Intro to Fashion Design, Mood Board Creation and Research Discussion
     
    Week 2: Sketching and Technical Instruction (Serger, Buttons)
    Week 3: Clothing of Choice Pattern Tutorial (Circle Skirt, Pants, T-Shirt/Sweater)
     
    Week 4: Finish Embellishments on Previous Week's Tutorial (Pockets, Lace, Decoration, Fabric Manipulation Inspired by Mood Research)
     
    Week 5: Second Clothing of Choice Pattern Tutorial (Circle Skirt, Pants, T-Shirt/Sweater)
     
    Week 6: Finish Embellishments on Previous Week's Tutorial
    (Pockets, Lace, Decoration, Fabric Manipulation Inspired by Mood Research)

    The Fashion Design Course meeta once. WEEK choose a day thay works best for you schedule.
    Wednesdays  1.30-3.30pm or 3:30 - 5:30pm 
    Fridays 3.30-5.30pm
    Saturdays   10.00am-12.00pm and 12:30pm -2:30pm.( starts 10/30)

    Each session is $350 and lasts 6-weeks with the *fixed* start date, unfortunately we cannot provide any makeup classes.
