Parking
Arlington - There is a paid lot off Medford St a few doors down from HipStitch! There is also some metered street parking on Medford St.
Brookline - There is metered street parking throughout Brookline Village.
Newton - There is a paid lot on Cherry St, and metered street parking around the studio.
Wellesley - There is a free lot behind the studio, and metered street parking on Church St.
Parties
What do we need to bring for our party?
Please bring plates, cups, napkins, and any decorations you want for your party!
We do not have a water fountain, so feel free to bring water bottles for your guests as well.
What happens if our guests don't finish on time?
Don't worry about everyone finishing on time! Our teachers will use the last 15-20 minutes to finish up everyone's projects while the party-goers are celebrating and eating cake.
What time can we start setting up for our party?
Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes early to your party time. We have multiple parties a day, so we want to ensure everyone has enough time to clean up/set up.
We also require parties to be cleaned up and out of the studio 15 minutes after the party time to make sure the next party has enough time to set up.
What age do my party guests need to be?
We require all participants to be 6+ to use our sewing machines. If some of your guests are 6+ and some are 5+, we are more than happy to offer a hand sewing party instead.
Can we have more than one project offered for our guests to do?
We can only have one project offered per party, the exception being a machine sewing party having both pillows for new HipStitch guests, and tote bags for returning HipStitch guests.
Camp Days
Can I sign my child up for a half day of camp?
Yes! we offer a morning session from 9am-1pm, and afternoon session from 1:30pm-4:30pm in addition to our full day session which is 9am-4pm.
Can we pick up our child early/ Can we drop off late?
Yes, you can drop off late and pick up your child early but we request you let the studio know in advance. The payment will stay the same.
What should I pack for my child?
For a full day of camp please bring two snacks, a lunch, and a water bottle. For a morning session of camp please bring one snack, a lunch, and a water bottle. For an afternoon session of camp please bring one snack and a water bottle.
Can my child be in the same group as their friend?
Campers work at their own pace on projects of their choosing, so everyone is in the same group!
Craft campers work separately from the machine sewists, so if both children are craft campers, they will be in the same group.
My child wants to move up a level in sewing, how can they get there?
Our projects are separated by skill level, so if your child wants to move up a level we can teach them the specific skills needed. We can then give them a sewing test to see where their skills are. If they aren't ready to level up yet, no worries! We can practice and go over the skills needed and they can retest when they are more confident.
